Boudoir Photography celebrates an individual’s beauty, confidence, and unique identity. Regardless of one’s age, body shape, or background, boudoir photography promotes the idea that everyone deserves to feel beautiful, desirable, and comfortable in their own skin. It aims to boost self-esteem and empower individuals by encouraging self-love. It allows one to appreciate their bodies, overcome insecurities, and see themselves in a new light.
About Me:
Growing up in a conservative Chinese society, the weight of societal expectations and judgment brought me down. Just like any regular person, I had my insecurities specially when it came to my physique, appearance versus how society sets the standard.
I decided to break free and forge my own path. I refused to let the judgments and negativity define her worth. Finally, I embarked on a journey of self-acceptance.
My Journey to Boudoir Photography
I discovered that I felt the most confident and alive capturing the beauty and uniqueness in others. I always had a passion for photography but I wanted to experience the same feeling myself, so I took the leap of faith and faced my fears of being in front of the camera. I faced my insecurities head-on and tried boudoir photography for myself.
It redefined everything for me. For the first time, I felt confident, sexy and powerful as a person and as a woman.
What I do now
Opening up a world of unique and exciting opportunities happened once I incorporated a nomadic lifestyle as a boudoir photographer when I started.
My love for photography, travel, and cultural exploration helped me in developing personal growth and creativity, allowing me to evolve as an artist, professional, and boudoir photographer. I know own a boudoir photography Studio in Cairns and also travel around the world and around Australia for boudoir photography sessions.

Communication & Conversation
As a travelling boudoir photographer, I have learned to give so much importance to really talking and communicating with your clients. One has to know the point of view of the person who wants to do a boudoir photoshoot; why is he or she doing it?
It is through genuine conversation that we people begin to understand one another. The same way with boudoir photography.
Guidance and Coaching
I know for a fact that posing in front of a camera is not that easy, specially when it is your first time. Hey, we’re not all vogue fashion models here. As your travelling boudoir photographer, I can guarantee you that coaching is one of the things that I give priority to.
It takes confidence to strike a killer pose when doing boudoir photography. Most may not know how to do it at first, but with the right guidance, anyone can do it!
Authenticity and Respect
A lot of people feel like they need to alter photos and manipulate their bodies when editing what the camera captured. A lot of photographers use softwares like Photoshop to make clients look slimmer, curvier, whiter and so much more. However, Min Xu Photography is promoting self love and confidence. There is no point doing that if I will just edit my boudoir clients’ just to make it “look better”. I am a firm believer that every body is a majestic one. No need to edit.
The objective of boudoir photography is for you to embrace your body and yourself for what it is.
